Capita has extensive experience building medical solutions.  Listed below are some of our medical systems:

Onfile:

An Online Medical Records Management System. The consumer can save and update their medical history and life information (living wills, family instructions) online, and, with proper permission, their doctors can access the data anytime and anywhere. 

The system electronically manages all medical information such as lab reports, x-rays, cardiograms, patient history, medical profile, medical insurance information, billing information, doctor’s information, medicines, allergies, special care, and even your living will and other medical imperative directives.  The system utilizes role security for HIPAA Compliance.

Patients are given a medical card, which allows medical doctors access to the data even when the patient is unable to communicate.

Doctors, nurses, clerks can all have limited and secure access to their patient’s data.  They can only see or update what their Onfile privileges allow them to. The information is safely stored and available rapidly to help save lives.

Achieve Health Care - Post Acute Care Enterprise Medical System

Capita helped build an enterprise medical system which is now being used by over 1,000 post acute care homes across the country.  

The software developed for Achieve includes Capita’s financial products, which were customized for the medical industry.  Capita custom-developed many large applications such as: Accounting, Resident Trust, Admissions, and Census and Claims.  The billing and claims programs have very sophisticated logic.

All the applications were tightly integrated with the overall Enterprise solution.

Some of the major functionality includes:

  1. Financial Accounting system: General Ledger, Accounts Payable, PO, etc.
  2. Accounts Receivable: Completely developed the accounts receivable system and integrated it to all other applications.
  3. Managing all client information from registration to their final departure.
  4. Billing for everything, including room, food, doctors, prescriptions, nursing help, and all medical and care needs.
  5. Insurance processing
  6. Online prescription ordering 

Capita developed two major medical applications for Los Angeles County’s Department of Health. The two applications are described below: 

DHS – Doctor Referral System for LA County Dept of Health Services

Capita developed an automated Web Clinic Referral System (Web Referral) that enables DHS to perform the referral process over the web.  This system increases the overall efficiency, reliability, and accessibility of the referral process.  The product managed the knowledge to refer the right doctor and the right physical medical care facility to help the patient.  The system has a work flow management component to improve the speed and efficiencies of reviewing and approving referrals.

DHS – Healthcare Plan System

The project involves designing and developing a web-based application to track and monitor Medicare insurance claims from each of the six county medical facilities to ensure timely payments. The new intranet application is HIPAA compliant and allows authorized users from each of the county facilities to access patient claim records, calculate estimated payments for over 100 different health plans and medical services; track billing and payment information; create custom arbitration forms and letters; and view, export, and print over 20 reports.

The application also includes a comprehensive administrative tool which allows a select group of administrators to maintain the application without IT involvement. Maintenance features include:

  • Users and their security access rights
  • Healthcare Plans and their reimbursement rates and rules
  • Report headers, footers, and logos
  • Hospital, physician, and judge name and address information
