Axium

Entertainment Industry
The movie production industry has unique accounting and financial challenges.  Spending $100,000,000 over several months of production in multiple locations all over the world requires a lot of logistics and financial management controls.   Payroll is extremely complicated requiring a rules based engine managing thousands of industry rules.  Capita worked with Axium to build for them a comprehensive integrated financial product suite including:  GL, Budgeting, Scheduling, Payroll, Asset Management, Residuals, Stock & Location management, and an Executive Dashboard.  Axium is a leader in providing these products and associated services to the movie production industry.

Veterans Administration: The Pathway Home

Design and production of website for The Pathway Home program, a Residential Recovery program specifically created for, and dedicated to serve, our Nation’s “New Warriors” — those of any age, who have served our Nation’s Global War on Terror in areas of the world such as Afghanistan and Iraq.  New Warriors have survived the stressors of war, but may find themselves experiencing problems that are “getting in the way” of their post-deployment functioning. The Pathway Home Program can help to address those problems and maximize each Warrior’s mental and physical health, coping, resiliency, and overall functioning – whether that is post-deployment, or to re-deployment, or civilian status.

Los Angeles County Probation Case Management System (PCMS)

The County of Los Angeles Probation Department awarded Capita the project to develop the next generation Enterprise Probation Case Management System.

The system is integrated and encompasses all aspects of operations of the department,  enabling the Probation Department, its officers and executive management, to provide the services to the community with greater efficiency, so that the department can focus on the most important aspect of its services – the rehabilitation of the probationers.

The focus is on the probationer and his/her individual needs, both in terms of managing, tracking and reporting the case, as well as tailoring the programs and services towards their individual needs.

Management receives performance reports on the key indicators that measure the effectiveness of its services to the community.  Real time and accurate information is visible to the users of the application, which enables the department and its officers to promote effective decision-making for its probationers and the communities they serve.

The improved system includes the following differentiators:

  • Efficient workflow that is tailored to the different users within the department.
  • Automated processes that enable the Probation Officers to make timely and sound decisions based on the quality of information that the system collects.
  • Combined scientific and social approaches to the services and programs provided by the Department.
  • Enriched data collection and reporting mechanism that supports the demands of the Department and other agencies (State, Board of Corrections, Board of Supervisors, and other criminal justice agencies).
  • Clean and optimized user interface that facilitates ease of data entry as well as retrieval of information.
  • Flexible and adaptable to the ever-demanding changes that the Department is faces.
  • Enriched application security that meets the standards imposed on criminal justice systems.

The major components of the Juvenile System include:

  • Application Security
  • Centralized Registry and Demographics
  • Intake
  • Case
  • Case Assignment and Transfers
  • Investigation
  • Supervision
  • Institutions (Halls and Camps)
  • Placement (including Vendor Maintenance)
  • Movement and Transportation
  • Incident and Grievance Tracking
  • Restitution
  • Case Assessment and Planning
  • At-Risk
  • Administration
  • Enriched Set of Reports

The solution is highly integrated and utilizes J2EE, XML, relational databases and is separated in layers that support technical flexibility.  It also complies with the industry standards such as the CJIS standards and the Justice XML Standards.
